July 31 - Off to Newfoundland

In the morning we packed the bike, got the laundry done & locked up the trailer.  It’s staying in North  Sydney and we will just take the Harley on the ferry.  Scheduled departure was 5:30 pm, but we had to be there by 3:30.  It was a hot & muggy day.  The ferry was delayed by an hour, and there was no air conditioning.  Got pretty stuffy quickly.  We made the best of it as we had a 16 hour journey in front of us!  The ferry was quite nice actually.  Live music for the first 90 minutes, a lounge/bar area and buffet dinner.  There are sleeping cabins but unfortunately we weren’t able to get one.  We played a lot of crib and managed to get an hour or two of upright sleep in.  By early morning the on-board temperature was back to normal.  We made up the lost hour and arrived in Argentia, about 2 hours south of St. John’s by 10:00 am.  We were really looking forward to getting to our hotel and having a power nap!
