August 9 - Ferry back to Nova Scotia

We were on the road by 7:30 to drive the 2.5 hours to the ferry at Port Aux Basque, which is the “short” 7 hour ferry.  Rain was forcast so we donned the rain gear and were off.  The first two hours were fine...and then we got hit.  The rain wasn’t torrential but enough to make things uncomfortable.  Then there was the wind.  It was crazy!  We were slowed to 60kmh to stay upright.  Kevan said it wasn’t the longest stretch of wind but probably the worst he’s ever had to ride through.  The ferry terminal was a welcome sight.  There were 3 to 4 meter swells on the ocean so the first few hours of the ferry ride had a few people seasick.  We were both fine but walking in a straight line was a challenge 😂.  The last hours were calmer and the sun came out so our short ride to the campsite was lovely.  We were back in time for dinner and 3 loads of laundry.  Sorry there are no pictures today.
