July 6

This morning we said goodbye to Nashville and headed east.  Had a good drive to Natural Bridge/Lexington, Virginia.  We are camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains tonight, about 3.5 hours away from Washington, DC, tomorrow’s destination.  We planned to have a campfire tonight but saw some dark clouds rolling in.  Had just packed up the lawn chairs & crib board when lightening & thunder rolled in and felt like it hung right over our trailer.  Extremely loud & bright!  Nice to be safely dry inside & eating dinner in.  Things have settled down now so hopefully a cozy sleep and we will be in Washington tomorrow afternoon.

A really nice campsite!
