Day 4

Left our cul de sac and headed back to Colorado Springs to go see Garden of the God’s.  Thanks Jenn Thompson for suggesting!  So beautiful and a great experience.  We started with breakfast on the patio overlooking the mountains.  It’s advertised as eating in a postcard.  It was lovely.

We took a shuttle to the base of the park and then walked through the rock formations.

I could add so many photos but you get the idea.  By 10 am we were off to Kansas.  We had a reservation secured for a campsite and planned a 6 hour drive.  Not to be.  An hour into the drive Kevan noticed we had lost our trailer brakes.  At a truck stop he’s on the phone with Dan from Tech Trailer trying to diagnose the problem.  2 hours later it’s determined we lost a breakline, probably from severe bumpy roads in Colorado.  Kevan managed to plug the bad line & got 3 working.  Thanks Dan!! Now we are not getting into Junction City until 10pm.  We saw incredible lightning strikes on the horizon for the last hour of our drive.  Got to our campsite only to find out someone had parked in it that hadn’t properly reserved.  Instead of kicking them out we just parked in the driveway for the night...this is becoming our norm lol.  The rain started just as we were setting up.  The noise on the trailer roof from huge raindrops was crazy!  You could feel the thunder on the trailer floor.  Was quite the night, but we were safe & cozy.
